It has been a long time since I posted. The kids are good. It’s the mom that’s having some energy issues. But today is a good day…




Tennessee has let me down again. Our legislators recently passed a bill that allows discrimination by companies doing business with government entities. And this bill takes away the power of municipalities to do anything locally. Our governor signed it this week.

One branch has already passed the “Don’t say Gay’ bill which will hogtie teachers when students come to them with questions, and make it harder on lgbt students.

I’d move … but where?

There will be a group formed to fight… locally. What we need is national legislation. And I cannot imagine the mindset of a person who wants to discriminate. Evil? Stupid? Uninformed?

I’m going with evil at the moment. I don’t have enough energy to give anyone the benefit of the doubt.

It was nice to hear from the kids today…


It should be noted my biological kids were number 3 and 4 in the happy Mother’s day wishing competition!!! (never sure it’s about me…or the competition between them!)

Otherwise it was a quiet day, with one of the foster kids helping Steve get the annuals in while I did a little house work.

Next week the house will be busy with the grands!!! We’ve scheduled the visit at a time when I’m a little livelier!!! Hopefully there is a dip in the pool if the weather holds. The next weekend we’ll see the oldest. He’s coming to be my sitter while I deal with the aftereffects of Chemo #3. YUK.

Boys boys boys....

Our kid whose dad is in the military went for a quick trip home today. His 21st birthday is coming up and he needed to get his military id remade, and jump thru some hoops concerning insurance.  He will also deal with whatever details he needs to get college assistance for the fall. (son of an active duty serviceman, and a mom who works within the state university system.)  He should have at least half of his tuition covered... more maybe.  He called this afternoon and said he was checking into staying another day or so, to hang out with his brother. Mom has put him to work doing yard stuff and is paying him.  He sounded happy. My prayer is that the next day or two go as well. This kid wants to reconnect with his family...

Another one of the young ones called tonight just to chat. I cut him off after an hour and 13 minutes. LORD. I haven't spent this much time on the phone since I was a teen.  He was explaining to me how he's getting it together to pay off some accrued bills. He was trying to figure a time he could come and visit this summer... he was wound up!!! His partner is at work, so he had all the time on earth, and he too sounds really happy.

I am beginning to feel human again after the last treatment. Hopefully this weekend hubby (who's on his second round of antibiotics for bronchitis...but happily working!!) and I will both feel good at the same time. We have a house that NEEDS a good cleaning!!!
