Why?

I am a Catholic Mom, part of a task force working on the LGBT homeless youth in Memphis problem. We are trying to put together some procedures and policies at the MGLCC to serve this population. As the mother of a gay son, I have serious issues with parents who think their children are disposable. Steve and I are doing what we can to help.

This blog is my way of sharing what we are doing, and inviting you to join in. It also gives me the chance to work through some issues, and invites you to comment as well

There are a few terms that my friends tell me they didn't understand... so here are the acronyms.

lgbt - lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender.

glbt - same as above

MGLCC - Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center

CMGLP - Catholic Ministry with Gay and Lesbian Persons

FF - Fortunate Families
